Quarterfield Stables is located by Hertzler Farm and Feed on a 268 acre beef farm.  It will be run by Brenda K. Moore starting March 1, 2001

Services Offered:
  • Stalls:  20 - 10'x 12' and 12' X 12'
  • Lessons:  Huntseat for all ages and levels including Sidesaddle
  • Riding Ring: 170' x 200' sand/clay footing and 2 board fence
  • Tack Rooms: 2
  • Pastures: 3 grass pastures for rotation and a small paddock area

Brenda has twenty-five years of training and showing experience in the Northeast (primarily NJ) including time with the nationally known trainer George Morris.  She has had many years of involvement with 4-H clubs, the NJ Professional Horseman's Association and the NJ Horse Show Association resulting in numerous NJ State Championships and Reserve Championships for both her and her students in Pleasure, Hunter, and Equitation.

Her personal experience includes some judging, managing her own boarding and training barn in NJ, showing at all levels from 4-H to AHSA recognized at A, B, and C levels  including shows at Harrisburg, Devon and Madison Square Garden.  Brenda recognizes that there are different ways to enjoy horses and that not everyone cares to share the same goals in their horse activities, thus she offers her services accordingly.

Directions to Stable:

From Richmond:  Take Rt. 60 west.  After you cross the county line into Powhatan you will go approximately eight miles and you will come to the stoplight at Flatrock.  Go 1-1/2 miles and there is another stoplight.  Go 1 more mile.  Turn left on Rt. 653 (Buckingham Rd.).  First drive on left.

From Interstate 64:  Take the Gum Spring Exit -522 South.  Follow 522 all the way to Route 60.  Turn east-or left on 60.  Go 3-1/2 miles.  There will be a stoplight with Food Lion on the left.  After you go thru the stoplight, take the first road to the right.  The stable is one mile on the right.
