Diatomaceous Earth DE is an abbreviation of the words "Diatomaceous Earth," which is a fossilized deposit of microscopic shells created by one celled plants called Diatoms. These plants inhabit all the waters of the earth, and serve as the basic food for aquatic life, just as grass is the basic food for land animals. Some of these deposits, shifted to dry land, are extremely important to humans. Uses of DE
For more information on how to use DE on the above applications, go to Perma-Guard, Inc. website at www.perma-guard.com . Added to feed or given "free choice" DE
Stall Dry is mined out of the earth and is a mixture of 65% diatomaceous earth and 35% montmorillonite clay. When comparing it to pure diatomaceous earth products, you could actually say that this mine is contaminated with the montmorillonite clay, because it effects the purity of the diatomaceous earth. This product is more gritty and not smooth like the pure diatomaceous earth. It is also a darker color. Additionally, you will notice on their MSDS that the product has a acidic pH of 5-6, where pure DE products either have a neutral pH or are alkaline. Other Links About Diatomaceous Earth
